From Nagaoka to the World!
In recent years, the globalization of the market and the subsequent multi-nationalization of companies is rapidly progressing, and it is necessary to foster global human resources who can play an active role internationally. In this course, opportunities to foster and develop communication skills, the challenging spirit, and intercultural understanding considered necessary for global human resources are provided by Global Project-Based Learning (Global PBL), with local Nagaoka or various foreign countries as the field for learning!
Having a wide range of experiences and connections both domestic and international and deepening the understanding of the local culture of Nagaoka, the regional cultures, or cultures of other countries will be a great asset in future life. In this school, one can expand one’s circle of friends to include the world and aspire to become engineers who can play an active role on a global scale!
Course Details
In this course, mixed teams sre organized with local companies, Nagaoka Delta Cone (NaDeC), as well as overseas partner schools, and international students to work towards resolving various issues. The course is also implemented in various places both domestic and overseas. Subjects for acquiring debate skills necessary for discussion have also is arranged. The course encourages student to become engineers with leadership skills who have the ability to think appropriately for the international community and can proactively expand the superiority of local culture and industries overseas.
Examples of actual initiatives
In March 2017, we conducted the Global PBL in Mexico together with students of the KOSEN course in University of Guanajuato and Salamanca High School, Mexico. We worked on solving local problems (graffiti problem and effective use of rainwater), involving ourselves while discussing issues in English. Are you poor in English? Are you anxious?
